![]() 02:10:06My Personal Blog will soon be published here for all to see, why am I here and what am I doing in Jamaica. Finding work is out of the question as coming from overseas seem to place my new to be employer off guard, why do you want a job, well, what can I say! 03:10:06I am leaving this area for a few weeks to gather my thoughts on my new career in Jamaica, hope I can stay positive, I feel positive, everyone round me are giving me good positive feeling, I will be back... trust me! 18:02:07Here I am again, 2007, and ready to make my moves in Jamaica. It has been a while since I have had the opportunity to write again and express my views on living in Jamaica. Why do Jamaicans have to steal from their own so much? For a little island the culture seems to be on of ‘lets steal something tonight’. We all live on this little island and many of us are finding hard to manage to stay alive and exist with a little money in our pockets, especially in these difficult times, yet we have these nasty dogs in our community who insist on stealing from the very people who is part of there life. Since I have been living in Jamaica some 4 years now I have had so many things stolen from my garden including 2 wheel borrows, garden hose, garden rake, Honda CRV and many other items, it’s hard to believe, and who buys the stolen items, Jamaicans, the same people who are suppose to be suffering, yet supporting the thieves to do harm. ![]() Jamaicans seems to be good at supporting the wrong people, for instance the government, they vote for them then the whole country are up in arms because the government are stealing from them. The young schoolgirls are allowing the older men in the community to steal what little decency they have, respectability is a thing of the pass and cheap sex fueled with ‘coke’ and money has made the Jamaica I have come home to a place not far from hell. How do these girls expect to have respect shown to them from decent people I do not know and do not care to know, these girls are making these men feel OK with what they do, nasty! We do not give ourselves any respect and strength to fight for a good living in Jamaica, we treat people from overseas with hate and bitterness yet we sleep with deportees who’s whole existence is to destroy the soul of our people. In my own small community we have a nasty little man who feels having sex with under age girls and paying for it is a good thing, the police thinks these girls are is daughters, well that was the view of the local sergeant. The good news for me is that I feel as if I have recovered from an illness that has lasted for some time, but 2007 is my year and the start of good things. Xaymaca Media and JA Projects (japrojects.com ) are now moving forward in Jamaica and we do not intend to stop for anyone. I have 2 houses to build this year and my own to start later in the year, well that’s the plan. My aim is to show our visitors from abroad that we are not all thieves, but hard workers that can take on the best in the world with what little resources we have, and believe me we have little resources to work with and what little we have is very expensive. Come on you people, stop the thieves in our community, do not buy stolen items because it’s cheap, your children are learning from you and the circle will never stop. 19:02:07I have a feeling this is a going to be a good day, I have had some very good days since late October 2006 when I returned from a few weeks in England, except for ‘my stolen car day’ all has been good. Started a cottage on my land in Duncans Bay, a place to lay my head while I start my new career, house Designing and Building in Jamaica. Over the last year my main aim is to be a house designer in Jamaica, I wish to express my views with designs that I hope will be uplifting to our clients. The clients and myself will work at the best possible ways to obtain a fair deal for everyone that works on our projects and make sure we stay inside all our budgets. I have seen houses put together without design, they look OK, but lacks any feeling, cheap seems to be the views of most people. My first house will have a basement dug out and below ground, a swimming pool and 3/4 bedrooms, a tall order for the team but we can do it and in time I will show you what we Jamaicans do for you. Working with JA Projects (japrojects.com) means that we do not have to stop work because the client is away, he/she will be able to see everything on his or her computer while away, JA Projects has proved to be a worthwhile part of the whole plan, it works! The clients love the whole idea and have taken to it in a big way. By the way, you fat women out there who are coming here to Jamaica and fucking the Rasta boys, find out if they have a woman, you see the little money you have that entice (to make a person or animal do something by offering something desirable) them to leave there girlfriends behind and causes pain, have a nice holiday but be careful with who you are fucking, I am sure you would not like it yourselves so leave the poor people to have a life, you cause too much pain here in Jamaica. 25:02:07Another day in Jamaica, full of sunshine and a fresh breeze from the Caribbean Sea, where else do you find this weather but in the Caribbean. It is no wonder the Tourists love this island in the sun, it makes you feel alive and eager to do more each day, to live life to the full. I have to remind myself I am not a Tourist, I live and work here away from the Tourist. I can understand the attitude of the Jamaican who work and live on the North Coast; dealing with Tourists is part of their life. It is not only the Restaurants and Gift Shops that are dealing with Tourist, the Builder, Butcher, Hardware Store and everyone at some stage are dealing with Tourists along the North Coast, it’s what makes this part of Jamaica so nice to the Tourists. Kingston is where it all happens, Tourists, Manufacturing, Import and Export, even the parks are in Kingston. If you come to the island with skills to find a job you have to go to Kingston to find a job. I am coming to term with the fact that I am surround with such a one-track mind; the idea of reaching out for something else will never leave my mind. I have nothing against Tourists, it’s just that I do not wish to deal with these people, I am sure plenty of people are around to deal with them, I am not here to continue the same discussion I had in England. Over the past few years I have met some Jamaicans who share my views on living in Jamaica and wanting to go forward with ideas. Why build the house the same way your grandfather built his. Jamaicans may not have the raw materials as the USA and Europe, but we have the World Wide Web to help us find out more and how we can help ourselves. I am lucky to have had the opportunity to study as much as I could while living aboard but I also felt I am also the same person and living here all my life would not have changed that, I am sure of that, many Jamaicans here study and live to better there surrounding and keep away from the part of society that lets our country down. Jamaicans have a choice of how the they live their life, we live in a democracy, but it’s how we participate in the system that counts. You would never catch me in a dead end job for no reason. Sometimes we have to do that, but we must at all times be aware of our reasons, and we have our pride and life to live and past down to our children. I have been heavily involved with the Publishing world for over 30 years, seeing the changes. Publishing is what makes the western world alive, it keeps everyone reading, plenty of local Libraries and bookshops, selling books from all over the world, teaching everyone, everything you wish to know. Publishing is Media, not just books. Media is knowledge and Jamaicans are eager to learn. But where are the bookshops and Libraries and Publishing Houses in Jamaica, why, I do not understand? Jamaica is just a few miles from the States where the biggest Publishing houses are, I know more than most, I grew up with them working from the UK, yet even India gets the work, not Jamaica, why, are we just capable of looking after Tourists, is that the skill we aim for, do we not want to be authors, actors, fashion designers, do we not want more, so where do you go to find out these things, oh, Kingston! No, get away from Kingston. Go direct, phone the States, send an email, look up the Publishing Houses, the main Publishers, they may help, communicate with the right people and ask for help, the Americans are very helpful here, it only takes one and it grows fast, to produce an academic book will take weeks involving at lease 6 people, at the moment the sterling for one is getting a bite so is the rest of Europe, from the USA, the dollar is low, ideal for the Jamaican market, we need to fill the streets with books. So often you hear of teens having to ask someone from abroad to send him or her books, it should be made easy to get them here. The Publishing Houses in the States are the best, usually up with the new trend and happy to pay for your work. Jamaica has all the technology needed to transfer the work over the Web or the large American Couriers here on the island. Training for these jobs are what we need here, we have these people here in Jamaica willing to teach, in cases for free, yet the system holds them back, returnees with skills able to teach are finding it hard to make a move. Why do I want these changes? I guest a lot of people will say Jamaica is fine as it is, sure I am not knocking it, I am knocking the system here. Its just that when I go shopping it would be so nice to see more of the Jamaican girls wearing a ring on the left finger while carrying a child or on a Saturday to see couples out shopping holding hands and be proud to be together as appose to the system way of doing things, little choice of jobs else where, no money. Still, the breeze is still nice and I am just happy to be here enjoying Jamaica and doing ‘my thing’. I have found good honest friends here and enjoy their company to the full; it is always a pleasure when you meet nice people here. What about the nice people in the UK, love them all, without them it would be hard to carry on in Jamaica, that’s the true. Can you be poor on the North Coast, yes; many Jamaicans live in poverty along the North Coast, no electric, no running water and no jobs, yet the aim is to survive, at whatever cost to some, but the rooted Jamaicans survive through the lack of greed and love towards the family, its nice to see. 03:03:07What a week, all I had this week was love and more love, who could ask for more, the year just gets better and better... There are times when I have to take time out and enjoy the moments I have with good people in my life, it makes you realize that helping and giving is a worthwhile thing and it has always played a very important part of my life. Over the years the need to help other people in my life has not changed and I hope it never will as it has become part of my personality and I feel more and more it has bought me closer to God. Strange for me to make such a statement so loud and clear, but it’s true and that’s what I am about. I do not attend Church and stay as far from discussions to do with the Church, that is not to say I have anything against the Church, I believe the Church has helped countless people to find a faith and therefore better themselves so God bless everyone that goes to a place of worship, whatever the belief. To me having faith is possible the most important thing in my life, far more important than wealth. Faith is what bought me to Jamaica, faith is what keeps me going in Jamaica and having faith in people sometimes can be hard, harder than working for money, so here in Jamaica at times my faith is having to work overtime. One of the nice things that has happened to me this week was a surprise email from an old friend from the 70’s, she found my site on the internet and made contact, it was so enjoyable to read and full of friendly atmosphere. She remembered I was the only person that visited her at the hospital when she was unwell and felt her life had stopped, yet she has gone through life and is living life to the full, I had a lot of faith in her. The Church has played a very important part in my mothers life since the death of my father, it has given my mother strength that she never new she had and a faith so strong she could move a mountain, yet like me my mother uses her love for life to help others and has made me very proud of her. A few weeks ago someone helped me to through a troubled time, I told my daughter what had happened, she told me I was not to be surprise because as long as she can remember all I ever do is help people, it bought a tear to my eye to know that my daughter had seen that in me. So, to all you non-believers, have a little faith with the people you love and the people around you, help others to have a little faith and love, money and friendship will follow you all the days of your life and dishonest and mis-trust will be a thing of the past, well that’s the way I see it! |
